Not sure where to start when having your bikini line done? Are you stuck in a rut and aren't sure what to ask for? Here is a simple description of the bikini services that I offer.
It's a common side effect to sugaring or waxing, but it doesn't have to be! Follow these simple steps to avoid ingrown hairs:
1. EXFOLIATE This is the most important for Prevention 101. It's why I give all my clients a free exfoliating glove during their first visit for body sugaring! By exfoliating, you remove the dead skin cells - the skin that is rough and hard at the surface of the skin - the same skin that new hair can struggle to push through, thus causing an ingrown. Ideally you should keep your exfoliating glove in the shower and use it with every shower, but if you forget, please at least exfoliate 2-3 times per week.
2. MOISTURIZE Keep your skin soft and supple. Use a good, non-greasy lotion that is free of parabens and mineral oils. You want simple moisture! A great moisturizer is the one I use in my studio, infused with tea tree.
3. CLEANSE When you sugar or wax, excessive sebum can be produced. If the skin is not cleansed properly, this sebum (oil) can block pores so that the hair grows up and backwards down the follicle in a loop and cannot push through the skin. This is why I use the Tea Tree Antiseptic Spray after your sweet treatments! Not only does it cool the skin and relieve discomfort (and smell delicious), but it keeps your pores clean too! Another great way to avoid excessive sebum build up is to take a bath with epsom salts. If you're not inclined to have a bath or simply don't have the time to take one (children anyone??!!), you can dab epsom salts dissolved in water on the affected area.
If you still find that you are getting ingrown hairs, there's a great product for you in my studio: Nature's Aid. It works by reducing inflamation and infection (allowing the trapped hair to move) and by softening the skin (allowing the hair to penetrate free!). It is powerful, so you can use it sparingly and treat individual spots, or use it on your entire legs/bikini/arms/underarms etc, for prevention, treatment and moisturization. Not only is this product GREAT for ingrown hairs, it helps with all kinds of skin issues from acne to scrapes, burns, insect bites and so much more; it's used on many occasions in our household with amazing results!

Here's to your happy, healthy skin! And to less and less hair growth!
I get asked this question every week! Is it really that important when you schedule your hair removal appointments? It sure is! And here's why. There are 3 stages of hair growth (anagen, catagen and telogen) and you want to get all your hair as close to the same anagen (active growth) stage as possible. This is the most effective time to remove your hair - at this stage, a vacuum is created by the force of the hair being removed and often causes the follicle to collapse and become dormant forever - no more hair!
For the best results, follow the shorter of these guidelines for 3-5 consecutive visits. After that, you will be able to lenghten the time between visits and enjoy longer periods without hair growth!
Face - every 2-4 weeks
Bikini - every 3-5 weeks
Underarms - every 3-5 weeks
Legs - every 4-6 weeks
Arms - every 4-6 weeks
To help you stay on track, consider booking 3 appointments at the same time! You can do this on-line here: BOOK ON-LINE
Interesting fact - did you know that waxing can break up to 15-30% of your hairs? Why wax when you can sugar and avoid that breakage!!
I'm a wife to one very generous and funny man; mom to two beautiful, smart and fun kids; chaser of one crazy goldendoodle and I LOVE my clients!
